About us

A local company that drives people to their care

Locally owned, run by Mishell Richardson, and built around one idea: the ride is part of the care.

Our story

Why we started driving

East BR Medical Transportation exists for one reason: nobody in East Baton Rouge should miss a doctor visit, a dialysis session or a ride home from the hospital because they could not get there.

Owner Mishell Richardson runs the business locally, and every ride follows the same idea. The trip starts at your door, not the curb, and it is not over until you are back inside.

Many of our riders are older, recovering, or use a wheelchair. Many of the calls come from their families. We work so that both the rider and the people who love them can stop worrying about the ride.

Care does not start at the clinic door. It starts the moment someone shows up at yours, steady on the steps, patient with the pace, and in no hurry to leave.

We keep it simple. Call, tell us the appointment, and we will confirm a pickup time. No apps, no call centers, just a local team that knows the parish.

How we work

What every rider can count on

Four things we hold to on every trip, no matter how short.

Time matters

A late arrival can cost a whole appointment, so we plan every pickup with room to spare.

Dignity first

Patient, respectful help with steps, doors, walkers and wheelchairs, and never a rushed rider.

Straight answers

If we cannot do a trip, or coverage does not apply, we tell you on the first call.

Rooted in the parish

We know East Baton Rouge, its clinics and its hospital entrances.
